| FORD TO OPEN R&D CENTER IN SILICON VALLEY
The Ford Motor Company announced that it will ope its first ever dedicated R&D center on the west coast in the Silicon Valley. Ford's vision is to build a moible computer on wheels. The goal is to for the new facility to crea an innovation network connecting ford's Advance Design Studio in Irvine.

DOLLAR GENERAL EXPANDS INTO GOLDEN STATE
The retailer Dollar General has announced it plans to open 50 stores in the state while adding a 439,000 sq. ft. distribution facility in the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center in kern County employing over 200.

UPDATE: THREE CALIFORNIA FIRMS MOVE HQ'S OUT OF STATE Superconductor Technologies and Waste Connections to Texas
|
In what appears to be a continuing exodus of companies from the Golden State, three California firms, the Brisbane-based Ipsen a biotech firm, the Santa Barbara -based Superconductor Technologies and the Folsom-based Waste Connections have announced that they will be moving their headquarters out of California. Semiconductor Technologies and Waste Connections both identified the tax consequences for the decision. Both however, identified that they will continue to keep operations in the state.

GE TO OPEN NEW SOFTWARE HQ, TO HIRE 400
GE has announced plans to open its new software headquarters in San Ramon's Bishop Ranch office complex, hiring 400 software architects, engineers, business development and user experience professionals. Construction is slated to begin later this year, with occupancy expected by mid-2012.

| CATEPILLAR ANNOUNCES MAJOR DEVELOPMENT
Catepillar Logisitics Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Catepillar announced it is purchasing 46 acres of land with the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center located at the junction of I-5 and Hiway 99 to construct a 400,000 sq.ft. parts distribution facility.
