CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Best & Worst Managed Cities Part 1, Worst Managed 01-17-12
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
California cities made both the “Best and Worst Cities Managed in the Nation,” according to a new ranking by the website 24/7 Wall Street com. The review used information from crime statistics (violent crime) to poverty rates, education levels of residents, city credit ratings and financials, housing market indicators, general overall economy specifically the city’s abilities to encourage business prosperity and creation of jobs.
Unfortunately, three California cities made the Top Ten list of the “Worst Managed.” However, the list apparently does not take into account cities below 100,000 populations as the City of Bell should have been ranked as the worst managed in the state. Nonetheless, here is the list.
TOP 10 WORST MANAGED CITIES IN THE NATION 1. Miami, FL 2. Detroit, MI 3. Newark, NJ 4. San Bernardino, CA 5. Cleveland, OH 6. Stockton, CA 7. St. Louis, MO 8. Fresno, CA 9. North Las Vegas, NV 10. Hialeah, FL
Tomorrow, Part 2, the “Best Managed.”
I am Tim Johnson and this has been the California Business Minute.
