Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
The annual ritual of baseball begins on Monday as Major League Baseball, MLB
begins its regular season. While all of the teams from California are in
action, the season home openers start on Monday for the Oakland Athletics
versus the Seattle Mariners and for the Los Angeles Angels versus the Minnesota
Twins.
The San Francisco Giants open the season on Monday versus the Houston Astros
but their season home opener is not until Friday, April 9th when they return
home to face the
Atlanta Braves.
The San Diego Padres open their season in Arizona but their home opener is not
until April 12th versus the Atlanta Braves – a 3:35pm start.
The Los Angeles Dodgers open the season on Monday in Pittsburgh against the
Pirates, but if you are a die - hard fan, you will need to get up early to
watch or listen, because the first pitch is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. eastern
time. There season home opener is not until Tuesday April 13th versus Arizona
Diamondbacks.
And of importance to California, this year’s MLB All-Star Game is in Anaheim
on July 13th.
