Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
The Website Portfolio.com has released a two rankings of the Best Cities for Quality of Life.
The companion rankings examine cities from 250,000 to 750,000 and for cities or MSA’s from 750,000 and larger.
The methodologies for the rankings are based upon healthy economies, medical costs, traffic, housing and educational systems.
MID TIER CITIES LARGE CITIES
1. Boulder, CO Raleigh, NC 2. Provo, UT Washington DC 3. Fort Collins, CO Minneapolis – St. Paul, MN 4. Madison, WI Bridgeport, CT 5. Ogden, UT Salt Lake City, UT 6. Holland, MI Denver, CO 7. Colorado Spgs. CO Seattle, WA 8. Ann Arbor, MI Boston, MA 9. Des Moines, IA Austin, TX 10. Manchester, NH San Jose, CA
San Francisco was ranked 17 out of the 67 large communities rated. It was followed by Oxnard-Thousand Oaks 27, Sacramento 33, San Diego, 35, Los Angeles 61, Riverside 63, Fresno 66 and Bakersfield was rated last at 67.
Additionally for California cities in the mid-tier size category, they did not fare well. Santa Cruz was ranked 31, San Luis Obispo 33, Santa Rosa 37, Santa Barbara 67, Vallejo 81, Salinas 92, Stockton 102, Modesto 103 and Visalia was last at 109.
