CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Dirtiest Cities 06-23-11
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Travel and Leisure has released their annual ranking of the “Dirtiest Cities in the Nation.” The results are based on public opinion, both residents and tourists. So while the ratings have come from people’s perceptions and not hard science it is important to remember a huge part of travel is the way visitors perceive a destination.
New Orleans moved up from #2 to the highest ranking. New York dropped 4 spots to fifth. Philadelphia jumped two spots to second and Los Angeles remains third on the list. San Francisco which was ninth in 2010 fell off this year’s list. Memphis which was not on last year’s list is ranked fourth.
AMERICA’S DIRTIEST CITIES 1. New Orleans 2. Philadelphia 3. Los Angeles 4. Memphis 5. New York 6. Baltimore 7. Las Vegas 8. Miami 9. Atlanta 10. Houston
