CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Best Small Places to Live 08-18-11
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Similar to last year’s list, if you like rain and snow, this year’s Top 10 list of the Best Small Places to Live is the only similarity to the 2010 rankings by CNNMoney. Not one place from the 2010 Top 10 made the list let alone the Top 20.
This year’s list looks at places from 8,500 to 50,000. It includes looking at job opportunities (at least within the limits of the new normal), fiscal strength, top notch schools, safe streets, good healthcare, cultural and outdoor activities and nice weather.
The following are the “Best Small Places to Live, 2011.”
TOP TEN BEST SMALL PLACES TO LIVE, 2011 1. Louisville, Colorado 2. Milton, Maine 3. Solon, Ohio 4. Leesburg, Virginia 5. Papillion, Nebraska 6. Hanover, New Hampshire 7. Liberty, Missouri 8. Middleton, Wisconsin 9. Mukilteo, Washington 10. Chanhassen, Minnesota
Three California communities made the Top 100, including Walnut at 57th, La Palma at 64th and Clayton was ranked 83rd.
I am Tim Johnson and this has been the California Business Minute.
