Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Given all of the blistering the Golden State has received about its poor business
environment, California cities still perform well in a new ranking of "America’s Best
Cities."
The rankings were bases on a variety of metrics of school performance, green space,
cultural amenities, entertainment venues and low crime.
According to the magazine Businessweek, of the 100 largest cities, three California
cities ranked in the top ten “Best Cities in America."
TOP TEN BEST CITIES IN AMERICA
1. Raleigh, NC
2. Arlington, VA
3. Honolulu, HI
4. Scottsdale, AZ
5. Irvine, CA
6. Washington DC
7. San Diego, CA
8. Virginia Beach, VA
9. San Francisco, CA
10. Anchorage, AK
San Jose was ranked 23rd and Oakland was 48th in the Top 50.
