Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
The Tour of California sponsored by Amgen announced its overall route for 2011.
Several new cities were added to next year’s event. The event starts Sunday
May 15 in South Lake Tahoe traveling along the western edge of the Lake and
finishes at the Northstar at Tahoe resort. The following breaks down the start
and finish for each stage of the race.
Sunday, May 15 - Start South Lake Tahoe, end at Northstar Resort
Monday, May 16 - Start Northstar Resort, end in Sacramento
Tuesday, May 17 - Start Auburn, end Modesto
Wednesday, May 18 – Start Livermore, end in San Jose
Thursday, May 19 – Start Seaside, end Paso Robles
Friday, May 20 – Start Solvang, end Solvang, time trials
Saturday, May 21 – Start Claremont, end Mt. Baldy
Sunday, May 22, Santa Clarita, end Thousand Oaks
The race is the largest sporting event in California. It is estimated that nearly
2 million people watch some part of the week long race.
