Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Forbes.com recently released its annual list of ‘Best Small Places for Business
and Careers.’ Unfortunately for California, not one small community made the
list. Although in looking at the list, and in comparison to recent similar
rankings, specifically, Kiplinger’s rankings ( see 06-04-09 Minute ‘ Most
Promising Cities’ it appears that Athens, Georgia is your best bet. And Bend,
Oregon, it has nearly a 20 percent unemployment rate, time to review the methodology
or to fire the statistician.
