California Business Minute™

Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.

A big salute goes to one of California’s National Football League teams,
the Oakland Raiders. The Raider’s known for wearing black uniforms,
however illustrated another color, showing that their hearts were filled
with gold as they raised money for the Special Olympics state program. 
The Raiders raised $170,000 as 200 golfers were paired with current
and former members of the team. 

Golfers were joined by the likes of Jim Plunkett, Ted Hendricks, Tim
Brown, Daryle Lamonica, Ben Davidson, former coach Tom Flores and
current Coach Lane Kiffin.

This is the third year of a three year commitment by the Raiders to utilize their
fundraising abilities to help improve the lives of the residents of the Bay area and
the state by supporting a community based organization like Special Olympics
that provides such services.
