California Business Minute™

Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.

The Tax Foundation released its annual ‘State Business Tax climate Index’,
ranking the highest to lowest.

And contrary to public opinion, California is not the highest taxed state in the
union, that prestigious ranking goes this year to New Jersey. Rhode Island held
that position last year.

Rounding out the top ten beyond New Jersey included New York, Connecticut,
Maryland, Hawaii, and then California at sixth closely followed by Ohio, Vermont,
Wisconsin and then Rhode Island.

Alaska was the lowest tax, followed closely by Nevada, Wyoming, Florida and New
Hampshire.

California drops from 45th to 44th year- over- year.
