California Business Minute™

Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.

In an economic turn of events, commercial real estate professionals are now touting the return
to California specifically from Nevada as the place to do business.

This week the Florida based company, Q.E.P. Inc which manufacturers and distributes flooring
tools and accessories for the home improvement industry has bought a 30,000 sq. ft. facility in
Adelanto in San Bernardino County. 

Q.E.P. will move from its Henderson, Nevada location to begin manufacturing in Adelanto and will
also distribute from this location across the western US.  Q.E.P. believes that the move will reduce
their operating costs by as much as 10 percent per year.

At the recent National Association of Industrial and Office Properties conference it was identified
that the increased cost of land in southern Nevada has created a change of opinion by developers
and in this case businesses and they are finding better opportunities in California.

San Bernardino economic development officials identified that no incentives were used to attract Q.E.P.
