CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Hidden Treasures 11-02-07
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
California has a variety of National Parks, many well known such as Yosemite, Redwoods and Sequoia National Parks and Death Valley.
But there are 5 parks that Californians do not but should enjoy by visiting.
-Lassen Volcanic National Park: This is one of two of the Cascade Mountains in the state. Access is limited by weather. It is open through November
-Channel Islands: It is called the American Galapagos, but it is so close to Los Angeles but is the least visited with only 250,000 visitors a year
-Lava Beds National Monument is located in northeastern part of the state. It has great opportunities for exploring caves
-Pinnacles is located in the Salinas Valley. It is a release site for the endangered California condor.
-Devils Postpile is located in the eastern Sierras in the Manmouth Lakes area. It is specifically recognized for geological formations and the 101 foot high Rainbow Falls.
Get out there and enjoy! I am Tim Johnson and this has been the California Business Minute.
