Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.

The Economic Council of Pass Communities in the San Gorgonio Pass area
representing communities such as Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon and Yucaipa
has re-branded itself after some twenty years. 

Previously it was known as ‘ECOPAC’ from its acronym.  But that made it sound
like an environmental group.  Thus the change was made to the Pass Economic
Development Association, PASS EDA.

There are several economic development groups in Riverside and San Bernardino
counties that watch the interests of specific areas, including Southwest Riverside
County, the Coachella Valley and the Hemet area, Pass EDA looks after this region.

However, PASS EDA as group is not the first in the area to re-brand itself. Recently
the Valley Economic Development Corp. changed its name to the Hemet-San Jacinto
Economic Development Corp.
