Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute

If your New Year's resolution is to live healthy, you might want to move. A new study
shows that California may not necessarily be the healthiest place to live. According
to Men's Health and Women's Health magazines, it appears that Salt Lake City, Utah,
is the healthiest city for women, while Madison, Wisconsin is the best place for men.

The magazines looked at 100 of the largest U.S. cities and ranked the best and worst
for men and women by looking at 38 different factors, including cancer rates, air quality
and the number of gym memberships.

However, San Francisco and San Jose are in the top ten for both men and women, along
with the other cities are for both men and women include-- Aurora, Colorado; Madison,
Wisconsin; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Salt Lake City, Utah and Seattle, Washington.

Now, According to the study the worst place to live for women is Bakersfield, and Charleston,
West Virginia is the unhealthiest place for men.

In the bottom ten spots for both men and women include Bakersfield, Birmingham, Alabama;
Charleston, West Virginia; Detroit, Michigan; Memphis, Tennessee; St. Louis, Missouri and
St. Petersburg, Florida make an appearance on both lists.

Unfortunately, Detroit continues to make all  of the wrong lists, including the most miserable
city in the nation and highest crime rate so it only figures one of the worst for health.
